Located at the trendy end of Via Paolo Sarpi - the new zone that has become 'the place' to be for the creative and hip types of Milan, this wine bar takes the best of the old school enoteca and blends it with the modern perspectives of the owners.
We spent a great afternoon getting to know the place with Simone who walked us through the extensive selections of wine and champagnes, especially champagnes, available, including a little trip into the cozy cellar. What we loved most is the spontaneity and casualness behind the curation of the wine selections - something that comes from the heart and their passion for the drink, as opposed to the more methodical approach of bigger establishments. And barely a few months into its opening, they have gathered quite an interesting fan-base of champagne aficionados (us included!) so there's a rather generous list of fine bubbly being offered by the glass - a rarity anywhere!
But it's so much more than just a place to buy and sell wine of course. There's a kitchen and a bar offering coffee and pastries for breakfast, salads and sandwiches for lunch and a full-on Italian menu with Japanese diffusion (an ode to the team's background working with Japanese institutions).
Highly recommended and we can't wait to be on a weekly basis to try all the new glasses!
